A good book to read during your Easter break…

Lee Strobel’s book is very helpful in terms of understanding the logic and evidence behind the miracle – the Easter story! I am not going to write a lot from now on… Let his book inspire you to dig deeper… please watch on! :D

You are beautiful

I see you there, hanging on a tree. You bleed and you died and rose again for me…

This photo defines the word ‘love’ – agape.

This photo is well known by people yet some find it shocking.

This photo shows the most beautiful (selfless) act you will ever find anywhere…

Without the crucifixion of Jesus, we would literally be hopelessly lost and not knowing what love is.

On this Good Friday we should remember Jesus, who he is and what he has done… for everyone.

This is what Jesus has done for us…

When we arrive at eternity’s shore, where death is just a memory and tears are no more…  we will enter in as the wedding bells ring, your bride will come together and we will sing ‘you are beautiful’.

Revelation 21 – boom!

Thank you for your love for me!

This evening I just watched the film ‘Machine Gun Preacher’ for the first time since it came out on DVD not long ago. The film is based on a remarkable true story about an American man Sam Childers - his life story from a violent, drug and alcohol troubled past then became a born again Christian who is willingly risking everything to rescue the orphans and child soldiers of Sudan, Africa.

The film was what I could describe ‘very heavy to watch’ from the start… the disturbing footage  showed terrorists attacking villages in South Sudan, killing people burning the houses down and abducting children…

Go and check out the film yourself… I warn you now it is not easy to watch through the whole length. I cried, I even walked out the living room just found it too hard to take in but I have to admit the story in remarkable even though I have problems with ‘people killing people dying, children hurt and you hear them crying…’ violence against violence might not be the best approach but I can understand the heart and purpose behind it all and see God uses Sam Childers to make a difference and brings hope to people who have none and experiencing pains that beyond our believe. God heals people physically but more importantly emotionally. It hurts me more to see children are suffering in the hands of those crue people in so called ‘LRA’.

So please I urge you, be prepared to experience the pain and watch on…

This evening one of my amazing Christian friend just sent me these verses on facebook – God knows exactly what I need to hear…

‘Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.’

Yesterday I was also been reminded of this amazing verse -

‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’

What a promise this is!

Even if I feel like being covered in sins and failures, God lifts me up with his unfailing love and his amazing grace. I can never understand why God loves me this much… he never gives up on me.

God became weak for me suffered from my sins and he gives me strength to live - literally and to carry on… now tears just start to flowing down my face just thinking about it.

I can never repay what he did for me but I can now make sure I will remember his amazing sacrifice and live for him.

Tim Hughes did this really encouraging talk during the Worship Central Tour:

To allow God to break into your life and let the Holy Spirit living in you to break out…

I have just been catching up on Passion 2012 conference which was a big Christian event for university / college students in US.

I just watched this video of some well known bible preachers in US reading the entire book of Ephesians. I love the passage Francis Chan read because it is one of my fav passages in the Bible. Also being so encouraged to hear John Piper reading the armour of God.
